A small business website that rings the phone

We build small business websites around one job, getting the person who needs you to call. They look great on a phone, show up in Google and AI answers, and tell you which visits became calls or form fills.

Five jobs your small business website should be doing

We include all five in every build instead of selling them as add ons later. See each one working in the demo below.

What is SMB web design?

SMB web design is a lean, fast website built for a small business and shaped around the ask. It says what you do plainly, works first on the phone, and points every page at the call, the quote, or the booking. Plumbers, accountants, and charities all need the same thing, a website that gets found nearby and turns the website visit into a lead.

Most small business sites fail the same three ways. They load slow, they bury the phone number, or Google cannot make sense of them. We build in the opposite order, so the site loads fast, the ask stays visible on every screen, and Google gets a structure it can read. That means business schema, local pages, and a profile that matches what the site says.

StreamAd builds it, launches it, and hands it over working. This is a one time build rather than a subscription, there is no monthly retainer, and ongoing SEO management and blog writing are not part of the offering. Hosting is available if you need it, and the site is yours, including the domain and the files.

Every build comes with conversion tracking already set up, so you can see which pages brought the call and which ones did nothing. A lot of small business sites go live with no measurement at all, which leaves the owner guessing about what works and paying for the guess. You should be able to answer that question about your own website.

It also makes every ad dollar work harder. A site built to convert is where search clicks, social visits, and email traffic are supposed to arrive, so the ads and the site stop being separate projects and start being one funnel. Our client reviews include a few of those builds.

One more thing. If you like this website, you are in luck, because we built it ourselves. Same team, same approach, sized to whatever your business needs.

Small business web design FAQ

Updated August 2026

How much does a small business website cost, and is there a monthly fee?
Most professionally built small business websites run $3,000 to $15,000, going by Clutch's 2026 read on US small businesses, and ours is a one time build fee with no monthly charge on top. We build sites as part of the marketing work we run for a client rather than as one off projects. Ask whether the copy, the photos, and the upkeep sit inside any quote you compare.
How long does it take to build a small business website?
A custom small business website usually takes 4 to 8 weeks, which is what agency guides publish, though a lean build can go live sooner. What slows a build down is almost always the content and the number of people who have to approve it. So we settle the page list and who signs off before we start, and we can write the copy, since doing it yourselves runs 40 to 80 hours by published estimates.
Who owns the website, the domain, and the files when it's done?
You should own all of it, and with us you do, which means the website, the domain in your name, and the files it's built from. Ownership is a set of separate logins, so you hold the domain registration, the hosting account, the site files, and the analytics. If you already have hosting or a domain, we can work with those, and if we part ways, you keep everything.
Can we update the website ourselves, and who maintains it after launch?
Yes to the everyday edits, and we're the ones you call for anything bigger. Before the build starts we settle which pages your team will change, so the hours, the staff, and the events are yours. We quote bigger changes the way we quoted the build. Upkeep is hosting, renewing the domain, security patches, and backups, which agency maintenance plans bill at $150 to $500 a month.
Do we need a full redesign, or can the website we have be fixed?
You may not need a full redesign, because sometimes the fix is speed, an easier path to the call, and the local pages that get you found nearby. We'll tell you which job it is, and if it's the smaller one that's what we'll say, though a rebuild does earn its cost once the platform can't be patched anymore or the structure stops matching what you do.
Will a website redesign cost us our Google rankings?
A redesign doesn't have to cost you your Google rankings. The protection is a redirect map, a list that forwards every old page address to its new home, because the rankings sit on those old addresses. So we inventory them before launch, point each one at its replacement, and watch what Google picks up afterward. The same checklist covers your email, because a domain repointed carelessly is how inboxes go dark.
Why isn't our new website showing up on Google yet?
Usually because Google hasn't crawled the new pages yet, and sometimes because a setting left over from the private build copy is telling it to skip them. That's launch work, so we hand Google a map of the pages and confirm in Google's Search Console that it can read them. Showing up and ranking well are different problems though, and climbing the results is ongoing SEO, which isn't part of the build.
Does a small business website have to be ADA compliant?
For most organizations the safe assumption is yes, the ADA covers your website, though there's no certificate for it. The pressure comes from firms running automated scanners across public pages, and published scans find failures on roughly 96 percent of homepages. We can cover the common ones during the build, so the alt text, the color contrast, keyboard navigation, and labeled forms get handled, and we can go further from there.
Can't we just use Wix, Squarespace, or an AI website builder?
You can, and for a simple brochure site a builder or an AI draft can be the right call. What they don't do is decide who the site is for, what it should ask people to do, or who changes it in March when something breaks. A Google Business Profile can't be cited in an AI answer either, because it isn't a page Google indexes.
Will a new website bring in more customers or donors, and how will we know?
It can, if it's built around one clear ask, and you'll know because we count the calls and the forms from launch. Every build comes with conversion tracking already set up, so you can see which pages brought the call or the donation, instead of guessing after a redesign that only changed the look. We run the advertising too, so your paid search and social visitors arrive on pages built to receive them.
